Ok so I have to rant a little AI. I love this show, I really do. I'm addicted to it. But I'm really nervous that America is gonna screw it up again tonight. This is supposed to be a show about singers and talented young people whose music will be listened to for years to come.
Unfortunately it hasn't always worked out that way. Sure American Idol gave us Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. But it also gave us Ruben Studdard and Taylor Hicks. Remember Taylor Hicks? That 27-going-on-50 year old who writhed around on stage like a snake on crack? Yeah where has he been? No where. But the 3 runners-up: Chris Daughtry, Catherine McPhee, and Elliot Yamin have all made albums and have had singles.
So what have we learned? It doesn't REALLY matter who wins, as the talented will always prevail in the long run. Taylor won season 5, but its Daughtry, who finished #4, who's reaping the successes. And why shouldn't he? He was far-and-away the most talented contestant that season (dare I say ever?) and that's why he's got a #1 album and Hicks is still doing Ford commercials.
That being said, I'm urging you all, the voters, to choose wisely this season. David Cook is the man. He's this year's Daughtry. We need some good ol' fashioned Rock and Roll!! We need a guy like Cook to win this thing this year. He's talented, he's fun to watch, and the arrangements he makes on these classic songs are uncanny. His version of Billy Jean was better than the original! That says something. I like little Davey Archuletta and all, but come on. He's 17 yrs old, he looks like he's 13, and he's no "Idol". Granted, he's got a smooth voice and he never misses a note. But he's not an Idol. He's not someone who's first album is going to go Platinum, if he can even record an album. He's certainly not a song-writer, which I believe David Cook is and will write some great stuff.
Should little Davey win it all, I'm still confident that Cook will make a great album, which I know I'll buy, and will be successful. He's earned it. He's been the only consistent contestant this season. He's always great, and his song choices are always fantastic.
So please, if you watch AI tonight, please vote for Cook. American Idol needs some credibility reinstated and Archuletta winning will only diminish the show's premise. America did irreparable damage to this show when they voted for Hicks. Let's make sure we don't make that mistake again.
VOTE FOR DAVID COOK!

Vote Republican if you want to keep America safe
I personally have always thought Bill Clinton was hugely responsible for 9/11. It is a known fact that he had an opportunity to go after Osama after he bombed the USS Cole and did not take any action (let's be real here ppl: Democrats aren't known for their balls). This just proves it a little more...
It was 1987! At a lecture the other day they were playing an old news video of Lt.Col. Oliver North testifying at the Iran-Contra hearings during the Reagan Administration.
There was Ollie in front of God and country getting the third degree, but what he said was stunning!
He was being drilled by a senator; 'Did you not recently spend close to $60,000 for a home security system?'
Ollie replied, 'Yes, I did, Sir.'
The senator continued, trying to get a laugh out of the audience, 'Isn't that just a little excessive?'
'No, sir,' continued Ollie.
'No? And why not?' the senator asked.
'Because the lives of my family and I were threatened, sir.'
'Threatened? By whom?' the senator questioned.
'By a terrorist, sir' Ollie answered.
'Terrorist? What terrorist could possibly scare you that much?'
'His name is Osama bin Laden, sir' Ollie replied.
At this point the senator tried to repeat the name, but couldn't pronounce it, which most people back then probably couldn't. A couple of people laughed at the attempt. Then the senator continued. Why are you so afraid of this man?' the senator asked.
'Because, sir, he is the most evil person alive that I know of', Ollie answered.
'And what do you recommend we do about him?' asked the senator.
'Well, sir, if it was up to me, I would recommend that an assassin team be formed to eliminate him and his men from the face of the earth.'
The senator disagreed with this approach, and that was all that was shown of the clip.
By the way, that senator was Al Gore.
Also:
Terrorist pilot Mohammad Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called 'political prisoners.'
However, the Israelis would not release any with blood on their hands, The American President at the time, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher, 'insisted' that all prisoners be released.
Thus Mohammad Atta was freed and eventually thanked us by flying an airplane into Tower One of the World Trade Center .. This was reported by many of the American TV networks at the time that the terrorists were first identified. It was censored in the US from all later reports.

THE MT f-ing A
Ok. What the hell is the deal with the MTA? If you live in NYC, you need no further explanation. You know how awful they are. Why do they keep raising fares and reducing service? There's something wrong there. I mean, I think Bloomberg is a great mayor. But he needs to do something about the transit system. There's always SOMETHING wrong. Whether its trains being late, overcrowded, signal problems (the signals are 100 yrs old), express trains that run local, local trains that run express...
I mean WTF? This is the problem when you are the only game in town. This is what happens when you have absolutely no competition. There's no one out there to make you better. The MTA is a metaphor for every company that is a monopoly. We have very strict anti-monopoly laws in this country. But, naturally, they don't apply to the government and its agencies.
Think about it: Would the MTA still be THIS awful if there was another company that also ran major public transportation? I know it isn't really feasible, but just imagine the possibilities.
How about the cable company? The phone company? The electric company? We're finally able to make a choice on some of these, albeit not a great one. But these are companies that basically have carte blanch to do what they want, and most importantly, CHARGE what they want. Think about your electric bill. Con Ed (or whoever your provider is) can say whatever they want. How the f*ck do you know how much electricity you use. You don't.
Competition breeds improvement. Its the desire to be the BEST that keeps you on your toes. When you're the ONLY you can just sit back, relax, and rake in the dough.
When it comes to the MTA, we're helpless. We can call, write letters, even freakin blog about it, but we all know there's absolutely nothing we can do. Don't you wish we could go on strike and say we refuse to take the subway until they do something to improve service? Ahhh if only...

Bloggers
Ok, I think its time for a rant. Don't you? What better way to start off a blog about the things that irk me, then to talk about bloggers. You know who you are (don't worry Dan, I'm not talking about you). But seriously. Who do these people think they are? Why do people think what they have to say is worth while and that people want to read it? Isn't that a little conceited? Is that what this country has come to? People just going on and on with their opinions on things. Who cares?
That being said, I hope you enjoy my blog.
